About the project

Digital and innovative mine of the future

The DINAMINE project aims at radically transforming and modernising the whole mining operation value chain by proposing solutions to move towards more selective, more efficient, and smarter mining to allow mining sites to increase their productivity, therefore bringing costs down, enhancing their safety, and significantly reducing their environmental footprint, with a specific focus on European SMEs.

DINAMINE will shift the current paradigm of mining management by developing and demonstrating a holistic mine management approach, based on (i) artificial intelligence-based data analytics tools that allows real-time mine-to-port monitoring of the risks, performance, environmental footprint, maintenance needs, product quality and recovery rates, (ii) machine automation and robotization strategies deployed and tested in actual operating conditions to enhance safety and productivity, (iii) on-site studies to identify best practices for carbon neutral logistics/transportation, more energy-efficient processing, and waste/tailings handling and valorisation.

Technologies developed will be upscaled and tested in 2 demonstration sites in Norway and Portugal and their associated processing plants.

Worldsensing role

Worldsensing participates in DINAMINE as a technology provider of IoT solutions in the mining sector and will:
→ Define the architecture of the Integrated Smart Mine Planning and Managing platform and the other models developed;
Be in charge of setting up the necessary sensors, nodes and gateways in the demo sites and ensure the communication between the sensors and the data platforms;
Be responsible for the visualisation and reverting of the data by providing the Connectivity Management Tool (CMT);

Participate in the Project Management Board of the project.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Framework Programme for research and innovation under grant agreement No. 101091541.
