K20 Edge Repeater

The K20 Edge Repeater is a key element of Worldsensing’s LoRa topology. Extend the communication range of your deployments to gain significant network range, especially underground.

  • Carrier grade casing (IP67) for industrial use
  • Supported unlicensed bands : 863-874.4MHz (EMEA, India), 915-928MHz (APAC, Latin America)
  • 8ch RX (125 kHz, multi Spreading Factor)
  • Powered by PoE (Injector, switch), both Mode A and Mode B (802.3af specifications), ±48VDC through RJ45 (isolated power), USB Type C
  • External waterproof connectors (RJ45, USB Type C) eliminating the need to open the casing during installation
  • Easy-to-install mounting kit
  • USB Type C connector for direct PC connection using USB cable
  • Compatible with all Worldsensing Edge Devices
  • Seamless communication between edge device and edge gateway through the repeater

HOW IT WORKS

K20 Edge Repeater as part of the IoT Remote Monitoring Solution

The repeater retransmits data from its associated nodes to the main gateway. Data can travel along multiple repeaters in hops before arriving at the main gateway, thus gaining significant longer range.

DATA COLLECTION

Collect sensor data through wireless loggers and at your preferred sampling rates.

DATA COMMUNICATION - LORA TREE

Extend the radio communication range of your LoRa Star. Especially, when you encounter radio signal obstacles. You can install repeaters strategically to overcome radio signal obstacles such as walls, ramps and curves to transmit data underground up to 10 km with 3 hops.

NETWORK MANAGEMENT

CMT Edge is the software layer that allows you to manage all connected nodes and repeaters. Easily configure all downstream devices through the CMT Edge Repeater Configuration via local acces.

THIRD PARTY INTEGRATIONS

Take data-driven actions based on near real-time information. CMT communicates with third party systems through the standard protocols such as MODBUS, MQTT, FTP and API Calls

FAQ’s

01

What is the recommended number of repeaters in my LoRa Network?

You can add up to 7 repeaters into your network. However, please note that the downlink transmission latency can be increased in configurations with more than 5 hops.

02

What can I do in advance to design my LoRa Tree network?

You can map your site and perform a coverage test using the new Link Test Tool from the Worldsensing Mobile App.

03

Where can I use the repeaters and the LoRa Network?

Leverage the K20 Edge Repeater and LoRa Tree network to tackle coverage challenges in complex geographical topologies, such as underground environments, tunnels or inside dam galleries. This monitoring solution can achieve up to 10 km of communication range in three hops with minimum latency.
