A big step forward in Smart City and IoT ecosystems

Worldsensing part of UNISERVER initiative
Worldsensing participates in UNISERVER “Universal Micro-Server Ecosystem by Exceeding the Energy and Performance Scaling Boundaries” project, which is co-funded by the EC through H2020 programme.
UniServer is a “Research and Innovation Action” (RIA project) that targets the development of a universal micro-server architecture and software ecosystem. The project was one of the 5 proposals finally selected, considered top ranking within a very competitive call (5% acceptance rate). This validates the ambition and novelty of the pursued project objectives.
UniServer aims to deliver a unique fully working prototype that will turn the opportunities in the emerging Big Data and IoT markets into real – smarter products that can improve the everyday life, leading to a substantial financial and employment growth by 2019.
The project consortium gathers partners with a unique blend of expertise, including world’s leading low-power processor and Server-on-Chip suppliers as well as a system software developer and a set of emerging application drivers.
Within this initiative, Worldsensing is responsible for validating the developed solutions by offering its expertise for Smart City applications.
The beneficiaries involved in this project are: Applied Micro Circuits Deutschland GmbH, ARM ltd, IBM Ireland Ltd, Sparsity S.L, Queen’s University Belfast(coordinator), University of Athens, University of Cyprus and University of Thessaly.
