Frequently asked questions

What is CMT Edge?

Worldsensing's standalone management software. Choose CMT Edge to manage individual and private networks locally. All the collected data will be contained in the gateway for full operational independence.

When would it be a good idea to deploy CMT Edge?

CMT Edge is the perfect solution for monitoring systems that require connecting to networks accessed locally due to security constraints or lack of internet connectivity. In CMT Edge, however, network size and transmission rates are limited due to the data processing capabilities of the gateway. Please, contact us to properly dimension your network.

Can I create network redundancy with CMT Edge deployments?

Redundancy is not possible with CMT Edge. However, there is the possibility to define a secondary gateway that can be activated when the primary gateway fails to connect. For full network redundancy, you should consider CMT Cloud. Reach out to us if you need more information.

What happens if I do not have internet access?

CMT Edge can operate without internet connection. It can be accessible through local networks using the ethernet cable.

What data export formats are available?

CMT Edge supports integrations via MQTT, FTP/FTPS, ModBus TCP and APIs, enabling data export to third-party tools and visualization software.

We've had a good relationship with Worldsensing for a number of years and we are one of their early adopters. We've really seen the value in a wireless solution. The Modbus protocol implementation on the gateway allows for seamless integration to existing communication infrastructure. This also isolates access to the data and reduces the impact of network outage in the area. Read success story
