Worldsensing has announced a major strategic agreement with Dr. Verónica Bermúdez Benito, an internationally renowned clean energy and technology scale-up strategist. This high-impact collaboration will take place within Worldsensing’s corporate area of Innovation, focusing on bridging the gap between leading research and market-ready industrial solutions.
Commenting on the new partnership, Dr. Bermúdez expressed her enthusiasm for the alliance: “For me personally, this collaboration is very positive and exciting. I see a strong alignment between what Worldsensing is building and the type of industrial and deployment challenges I have been working on for many years. I genuinely believe we can build something very powerful together.”
Through this alliance, Worldsensing’s flagship global industrial IoT and infrastructure monitoring operation will combine its robust deployment expertise with Dr. Bermúdez’s vision to streamline the transition of emerging technologies into scalable, commercial products.
“What attracted me to Worldsensing is that this is not innovation disconnected from reality. There is already real deployment, real infrastructure, real operational complexity and real market exposure. That creates a very strong environment to develop technologies that can genuinely scale.”

Bringing industrial reality to advanced R&D
Dr. Verónica Bermúdez Benito, who holds a PhD in Materials Physics, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with the Extraordinary Prize, brings more than 20 years of international experience at the interface of advanced materials, industrialization, applied R&D, and market deployment. Having held senior technical and leadership roles across Europe, Japan, and the Middle East (including positions at EDF R&D, France, NEXCIS, Solar Frontier, Japan, and QEERI, Qatar) she has spent her career helping emerging technologies move from laboratory performance to industrial relevance.

An independent expert in clean energy and technology scale-up, Dr. Bermúdez works across the full innovation chain, from materials and manufacturing to deployment and bankability, to assess whether a technology is genuinely ready to scale. Through her advisory, Berbetin, she applies the Scale Readiness Level (SRL) framework she developed to judge not just whether a technology works, but whether it can be manufactured, deployed, financed and relied upon in the real world.
“At Berbetin, we work from a simple premise: a working technology, no matter how efficient or scientifically impressive, is not yet a product,” explains Dr. Bermúdez. “The challenge is turning innovation into something manufacturable, deployable, reliable and valuable in real operating environments.”
Drawing on more than 20 years spanning fundamental research, a deep-tech start-up, applied R&D and gigawatt-scale manufacturing, she helps organizations connect scattered R&D efforts into a clear, deployment-focused innovation strategy. This collaboration pairs that scale-up expertise with Worldsensing’s proven track record in industrial IoT, infrastructure monitoring and global deployment.
Accelerating innovation with a shared purpose
Worldsensing already possesses several strong technological building blocks. The opportunity moving forward is to connect them under a clearer roadmap linking sensing, edge intelligence, energy autonomy, and infrastructure resilience. One of the main objectives of Dr. Bermúdez’s role will be to help structure how innovation feeds Worldsensing product pipeline, identifying scalable opportunities, and longer-term technology positioning under a strategic vision.
“Dr. Bermúdez will help us position Worldsensing to accelerate the delivery of next-generation solutions. Her understanding of the industry landscape and what drives value in strategic innovation was key in getting this deal across the line. We are truly excited to enter this next phase with such an expert partner by our side.”

Supporting the green transition
Modern society faces a critical dual challenge: managing increasingly aging infrastructure while simultaneously accelerating the urgent transition to clean energy. This agreement positions Worldsensing at the forefront of this shift, actively working to digitize the green transition and strongly reinforces the corporate commitment to environmental awareness.
Together, Dr. Bermúdez and Worldsensing aim to strengthen the company’s position as a key enabler of energy innovation and accelerating clean energy adoption. The partnership will support R&D initiatives with a commercialization focus and the development of integrated solutions that help clients overcome the growing challenges of the rising demand for sustainable technologies.
