Woldsensing provides technologies for efficient building management
Barcelona, March 2017
Within the energy community of the RIS3CAT framework, which is a R&D programme co-financed by the Generalitat de Catalunya (ACCIÓ), Worldsensing participates in the
REFER (Reducció Energètica i Flexibilitat en Edificis en Rehabilitació) project. The project seeks to study and test new technologies in real environments with the aim to make the management of buildings and making their energy consumption more efficient in general. In collaboration with the other partners, Worldsensing will develop IoT devices powered by solar energy and will test their functionalities in real pilots. The co-financing received from ACCIÓ is part of the FEDER programme.
About REFER project
The REFER project aims to improve the energy alternatives available for buildings, giving them flexibility with several options to address the generation of renewable energy and energy efficiency modules. The reality of today’s cities is that buildings have various uses and provisions. Some of them are residential and others are industrial and/or commercial building. Consumption and, consequently, options to improve energy management are related to the building’s nature and thus are different and must be addressed judiciously. The great challenge of this project is to improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings and new constructions, where it is easier to incorporate new technologies and knowledge. The REFER project focuses on two approaces: on energy and flexible rehabilitation of residential as well as tertiary buildings.
