Presenting Loadsensing, the leading wireless monitoring system at 3 mining events

Barcelona, April 2018
Many mining operators are losing revenues because they still rely on manual and cable readings, and don’t have access to real-time data. To address these challenges, Worldsensing featured its leading wireless monitoring system Loadsensing at Slope Stability 2018, and will also showcase the system at the upcoming Expomin 2018. In addition, the program of METS 2018 included a presentation by Worldsensing on how incorporating Operational Intelligence for mines can reduce risks and increase mining profits.

Live demo and presentation at Slope Stability 2018

Slope Stability is an international symposium on slope stability, open pit mining and civil engineering organized by the Official Professional Association of Mining Engineers of the South. Worldsensing mining industry experts were at Slope Stability 2018 in Seville, Spain to discuss the benefits of wireless monitoring.
Loadsensing, Worldsensing’s wireless data acquisition system ensures the safety and maintenance of 40 mines around the world. Visitors received a live demonstration on how the long-range, low-power and easy to set-up system works, and how it provides reliable real-time data, eliminating the need for manual monitoring and expensive cabling.

As part of the Slope Stability conference program, Worldsensing mining operations expert David Gomez, Industrial Engineer with 10 years experience in working in the energy industry, gave a  presentation on Wireless real-time monitoring for the Aguas Teñidas tailings dam.
In the session, participants learned how Loadsensing is used at the site to gain real-time control of the main mine tailings dam, and for the prevention of tailings dam failure that could endanger the inhabitants in the area as well as the environment.

Operational Intelligence for Mines at METS 2018

Why do tailings dam failures still occur? Worldsensing Head of Innovation, Andrea Bartoli, addressed this question in his presentation Operational Intelligence for Mines at the EU-LA Mining & Exploration Convention and Trade Show METS 2018, an event that provides an opportunity for EU and Latin American partners to meet in person and foster cooperation in mining and all related sectors.
While Andrea took attendees through recent tailings dam failures that have had serious consequences, including loss of lives, he also talked about how the technology in the mining industry has evolved to minimize the risk for infrastructure failures and how this can help mining operators to increase profits.

Open pit copper mine project at Expomin 2018

At Expomin 2018, the largest mining trade show in Latin America held in Santiago, Chile, the Worldsensing team can be found at booth #1-RO8 together with our partner for Chile and Peru, Geosinergia, as well as Sisgeo. Geosinergia is one of the leading system integrators in the field of geotechnical and structural monitoring in Chile and Latin America.
Visitors will be able to learn about a joint Geosinergia-Worldsensing real-world case study on how an open pit copper mine in Chile ensures mine safety and optimal operations. The mine monitors pore pressures for waste disposal around the open pit copper mine in one of the hottest parts of the world, the Atacama Desert, using the leading wireless monitoring system, Loadsensing.
Are you heading to Chile for Expomin 2018? Book a meeting to discuss how to diminish risks and even prevent disasters, and significantly reduce costs by digitizing monitoring processes.

About Slope Stability 2018
The world renowned Slope Stability Symposium was held in Seville, Spain from April 11-13, 2018. The three day conference brought together mining, civil, geotechnical, geological, hydrogeological and geophysical engineers to explore new techniques with the aim of improving open mine stability.
About METS 2018
EU-LA Mining & Exploration Convention and Trade Show METS 2018 was held in Madrid from April 10 – 12, 2018.
