Barcelona, May 2018
The world´s largest parking conference & expo by International Parking Institute (IPI) brings together more than 3,500 parking professionals from over 30 countries in Orlando, Florida. At IPI 2018, Worldsensing officially launches its evolved parking management offering, Fastprk, including new parking detection technology for its outdoor sensors, an advanced software solution, and novel services. The smart parking pioneer will also present its global projects and use cases, including the LA Metro project in collaboration with US partner Parking Sense, a leading intelligent parking solution technology provider.
The partnership between Parking Sense and Worldsensing combines the strengths and expertise of both companies: indoor parking solutions and market dominance in the US by Parking Sense and outdoor detection technology provided by Worldsensing. While Parking Sense developed its own indoor parking sensor for the LA metro project, Worldsensing is equipping over 20.000 parking places with Fastprk dual-detection sensing technology, which enables the collection of highly accurate parking data.
Even in environments with high magnetic noise like the LA Metro stations, Fastprk delivers more than 95% accuracy based on advanced dual-detection technology, which will be officially rolled out at IPI 2018. Larry Eade, VP of Operations at Parking Sense, who tested the technology on-site pointed out:
“Had I not seen it with my own eyes, I would not have believed how good the Fastprk product works, 97-98% accuracy and hitting sensors from the gateway over 300 meters away, very impressive.”
Both Parking Sense experts at booth #1410 and the Worldsensing team at booth #1230 will be available at IPI 2018 to discuss the LA Metro project and all the technical details. The updated Fastprk technology showcased at IPI is based on Worldsensing’s innovation project Fastprk2 and is integrated in an urban management solution enabling parking services such as fraud detection and management, or dynamic pricing.
Worldsensing works with leading companies around the globe to deliver end-to-end parking solutions. Embedded in a new, advanced software solution which can connect to 3rd party apps and subsystems, Fastprk can now be complemented with a range of services such as parking enforcement. One common challenge cities and parking operators face is being unable to manage violations effectively because of not having a holistic view of the occupancy of available parking spaces. Even when occupancy information is available, it is often not linked to a payment system. The Fastprk solution can be linked to payments, providing a single view visualization of unpaid, overstaying or no permit slots. The information allows parking enforcers to zero in on areas of high violation probability – all this resulting into incremental revenue from previously uncollected violations.
Are you heading to IPI 2018 and are keen to find out more about parking products and solutions offered by Worldsensing? Our team will be at stand #1230 ready to discuss your needs. Pre-book a meeting with us to arrange a convenient time and to have your pain points evaluated in advance.
The International Parking Institute Conference & Expo will be held in Orlando, Florida June 3 – 6, 2018. The event brings together more than 3,500 parking professionals from around the world, representing every level of experience and segment of the parking and transportation industry. The event delivers four days of education, the largest display of parking-specific technology and innovations, dozens of diverse networking opportunities, and the opportunity to connect with a global community – to advance the parking industry.
The latest Fastprk developments were made possible through the Fastprk2 innovation project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the grant agreement No 726607. In 2016, Worldsensing was granted funding by the European Commission for Fastprk2, an initiative to develop the next-generation of parking detection systems equipped with Intelligent Transport Services (ITS) for cities and citizens, all merged in a single mobility platform. The sensors combine both magnetic and infrared detection technologies and pioneer the use of deep learning methodologies to increase data accuracy.
Check out the Fastprk2 website for more details about the project.
