The Smart Lighting project in the city of Cancun, Mexico was selected among many other city contestants
Barcelona, November 2018
As part of the Go smart in a week campaign which ran before and during the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC 2018), as the winner, Worldsensing will grant Optima Energia a free smart city showcase.
“The Go smart in a week is the perfect opportunity for us to see how Worldsensing will help us implement a project that would usually take weeks or even months, in a matter of days,” says Enrique Gómez-Junco, Optima Energía CEO.
The Go smart in a week campaign provides the winning city with the opportunity to integrate data from up to five existing systems such as smart lighting, traffic, environment, incidents , nd emergency services in Worldsensing’s advanced Smart City solution. All data is displayed in an interactive map of the city combined with a personalized city KPI dashboard.
“We are among the few solution providers who have not only the technology but, most importantly, the expertise and experience to confidently challenge a city to go smart in a week,” says Shakil Ahmed, Director of Solutions and strategic partnerships.
For city control room operators: a test of the power of IoT
Through Worldsensing’s agile approach, the winning city can experience how control room operators can regain control of all city operations through the enhanced visibility of what’s going on at all times. It also allows the city to experience how their personalized KPIs can be displayed on the city’s map. Finally, it allows city decision makers to track the city KPIs on the go with a mobile app.
The campaign, which was launched just a week before the SCEWC 2018, received submissions from various smart city stakeholders. Optima Energia was the lucky winner in the draw which included government institutions, telcos, solution integrators, among others. The seamless execution was also made possible because of the readiness of Optima Energia’s data for integration.
