Worldsensing partner awarded with Indigo 2017
SKG Technología, a Worldsensing partner, was awarded with a prize called Indigo2017 by the Colombian Ministry of Technology for a joint project where Worldsensing deployed its real-time decision-making support solution, Mobility, including an incident management tool called Incidents and an app fueled by Bitcarrier intelligence.
About the Project
With the aim to deploy a smart mobility management system, Cundinamarca chose Worldsensing׳s Bitcarrier system and its real-time mobility management solution, Mobility, which are now a component of the city׳s “Smart Helios” platform.
Worldsensing previously successfully implemented its Mobility solution in Bogotá. The knowledge the company gathered during this project and the tools the IoT pioneer developed for the city of Bogotá facilitated the deployment of the system in Cundinamarca.
While Bitcarrier captures vehicle movements by means of smart sensors placed in strategic locations along a 28km long transport corridor, Mobility allows integrating Bitcarrier and all other existing subsystems in Cundinamarca.
Air Quality Monitoring
Thanks to the Mobility solution, Cundinamarca can now manage all traffic and incidents from one single place while monitoring CO2 emissions. Being able to measure the impact vehicle emissions have on the environment was an important objective of the project, which is why sensors were installed to monitor air quality and trigger alerts.
Road Safety Program
Cundinamarca’s mobility concept also includes an on-the-road support team called the Road Safety Promoter Group (GPS) in charge of traffic monitoring and incident reporting and supporting ambulances and traffic officers.
Users of the transport corridor in Cundinamarca can now benefit from the mobility app Worldsensing developed allowing drivers to plan their journeys based on real-time traffic information. They can also request help or report accidents. “Mobility Cundinamarca Helios” is available for download in Apple׳s App and Google Play stores.
