ShapeArray In-place inclinometer

In-place inclinometers (IPIs) are positioned at fixed locations in the inclinometer borehole for  continuous monitoring. Connect ShapeArrays and IPIs to wirelessly transmit data using the Digital Data Logger or the broadband Thread X3 for longer chains.
Up to 200 segments of ShapeArray using the Digital Data Logger and up to 300 segments using the Thread X3.

Piezometer Multi-point piezometer

Connect piezometers and multi-point piezometers from all the major geotechnical sensor manufacturers. Use 1-channel, 2-channel or 6-channel Vibrating Wire data loggers to transmit data from any number of sensor configurations. Water level sensors can be connected through Analog or Digital data loggers.

Soil water tension & moisture

Tensiometer Soil moisture sensor Granular matrix sensor

Assess soil water tension and moisture with a tensiometer and a granular matrix sensor both connected to an Analog data logger. Additionally, measure volumetric water content with a soil moisture sensor connected to a Piconode. You can also connect the Digital date logger to one or a chain of digital tensiometers.

Convergence

Laser Tiltmeter

Leverage the power of Worldsensing’s 2-in-1 Laser Tiltmeter to monitor convergence across entrance ramps, tunnels, galleries, and any underground excavations. The Laser Tiltmeter may be easily relocated along the convergence cross sections up to the excavation front or until the measured relative displacements are stabilized when the required frequency of measurements is reduced. It can also be used when permanent monitoring is required.

Use cost-efficient GNSS sensors connected to a ThreadX3 to accurately monitor ground movements and land deformation in vast areas such as tailings dams, open-pit mines and their surrounding areas, regions affected by subsidence and decommissioned mines.

Crack meters available in the market can be readily connected to a Vibrating Wire 1-channel data logger or the Piconode to monitor movement across surface cracks.

Strain & stress in steel arch supports

Strain gauge Strain meter rosette

Attach vibrating wire strain gauges to the steel arch supported by arc welding them directly to the steel arch to achieve long-term strain measurements of the structural element. Connect the gauges to the Vibrating Wire 6-channel data logger. Additionally, it is possible to embed vibrating wire strain gauges in the shotcrete to measure strains within the tunnel lining.

Pressure cell

Assess the tangential and radial stresses in shotcrete support for underground excavations with pressure cells connected to the Vibrating Wire 6-channel data logger.

Load in rock bolts, cable bolts & ground anchors

Load cell

Ensure the proper functionality of anchor systems (active and passive) by monitoring in a representative sample the load throughout their lifecycle including the load tests and stressing works. Stream data wirelessly from most of the load cells based on resistive strain gauges available in the market using the Piconode data logger. The 6-channel Vibrating Wire and the Digital data loggers can also be suitable, depending on the type of load cell.
