Sensefields system is based on measuring the magnetic field induced by vehicles by means of sensors installed under the road surface.
Using an ultra-low power radio, these sensors transmit the information wirelessly to a nearby base node, which in turn transmits it through optical fiber, Ethernet or cellular to the control centre.
The sensors are of very small size and thus very easily to install anywhere. The technology is highly energy optimized, thus ensuring lifetimes of many years without the need to change power supply.
Due to the unprecedented algorithms and innovative system design, vehicle detection accuracies are achieved which are far better than the usually deployed systems of magnetic loops.
